It's a Man's Issue is creating dialogue and education on critical issues surrounding consent, rape culture, and toxic masculinity. Through engaging speaking sessions tailored for schools and organisations, we aim to empower individuals with knowledge and tools to challenge harmful attitudes and behaviours.

We are on a mission to educate on consent, eradicate rape culture, and tackle toxic masculinity

Dr Curtis Rayment is JCU Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Graduate with aspirations of becoming a Rural Generalist, born and raised on his family’s cattle property West of Winton and now works in the Toowoomba Hospital Emergency Department. He is a passionate consent educator, current QRCU Heelers representative, North Queensland’s Brolga Senior Men’s Captain, a JCU RESPECT facilitator, and in 2021 Curtis founded “It’s a Man’s Issue” to deliver trauma informed, evidence based and culturally sensitive workshops focused on consent, sexual assault, healthy relationship’s, toxic masculinity and active bystander training with resounding praise from participants and staff. For his efforts in 2023 was nominated as Queensland Young Australian of the Year.

By sharing his own experiences as a young man from his time in college, in the rugby sheds and mustering camps, he hopes to educate and motivate other men to challenge their own behaviours, their mates behaviours and become part of the solution instead of the problem.
